Meine Erfahrungen mit MSM beim Pferd: Wie ich das Pulver-Chaos am Futtertrog endlich beendet habe

My experience with MSM in horses: How I finally ended the powder chaos at the feed trough

Anyone who has a sports horse or an older four-legged friend in the stable probably knows these morning moments: you bring your horse out of the stable or paddock, and those first steps seem a little stiff. The usual spring in their step is missing. That is exactly how things have been with my gelding lately.

The daily battle at the feed trough

Naturally, you start researching. When looking for positive experiences with MSM in horses, it quickly becomes clear: this organic sulphur is incredibly valuable for the regeneration of tendons and ligaments. So, full of hope, I bought a large tub of MSM powder. But reality quickly caught up with me, because my horse saw things entirely differently.

I really tried everything: first I mixed the powder into his beloved mash, then I hid it in a banana, and finally inside a hollowed-out apple. No chance. With a highly selective lip, he meticulously ate everything else and simply picked out the powder. In the end, the white stuff always remained at the bottom of the bowl as a sad leftover. What use is the most expensive joint powder if the horse refuses it and simply won't eat it? If it doesn't end up in the horse, it can't work.

My salvation: nuvallo move Snacks

A few months ago, I came across nuvallo move. The concept won me over immediately. Instead of dusty powder, they offer functional nuvallo move Snacks.

The big advantage in daily life? I simply feed my 500 kg horse 6 snacks a day (approx. 30 g) directly from my hand. No more annoying weighing and no more refused feed. The base, which is free from wheat and maize, is extremely stomach-friendly and consists of linseed cake, rice bran, and linseed – in exactly that order. Furthermore, the snacks are completely free from wheat, maize, added sugar, and cheap fillers.

The composition packs a punch: each daily ration (i.e. in 6 snacks) contains 2,250 mg MSM, 1,500 mg glucosamine as a building block for cartilage formation, 2,550 mg collagen for connective tissue elasticity, and 150 mg hyaluronic acid, the main component of joint fluid.

How he has changed

As he was a little stiff at first, I fed him double the amount for just under three weeks and then switched back to the normal daily ration of 6 snacks. The manufacturer recommends feeding the snacks consistently for at least 8 to 12 weeks. Subjectively, however, I noticed the first positive changes after just 5 weeks.

Since I started feeding nuvallo, I have the feeling he is much more supple during the warm-up. We have noticed that he moves around the paddock with much more joy and seems less stiff overall in the mornings. Another huge bonus: the snacks are manufactured in Europe and are completely ADMR-compliant. This means they are competition-safe, and I do not have to worry about withdrawal periods during the season.

My verdict

If you are tired of the powder battle at the feed trough and are looking for sensible joint support, you should definitely give nuvallo move Snacks a try. My personal experiences with MSM in horses have certainly taken a complete turn. The straightforward feeding directly from the hand saves me stress every single day, and thanks to the incredibly high palatability, the support finally gets exactly where it is needed.
